Forge of Connolly’s at ‘The Turnpike’ (as ‘The turn-peek’, Cloghoghue, on Newry Hill, main Newry-Dundalk road). One of two, another now demolished on opposite side of road, both just s-east of railways bridge. This Connolly said to have made cure for rickets in this forge.

Site of old walls claimed to house first forge in Blacklion. McGarry’s used to shoe the horses for Bianconi.
