  1. There were a number of Fenians in Derryvade and in the surrounding villages_ they were very active during the evictions on the springfield and Johnson Properties_
    The Land-lady (widow) and her family residing at springfield were under Palice protection the evictions were noisy, but no life was lost_
    Ballads were written of the Evictions and the Palice, and these ballads were sung in the Rumbling houses and at the dance.
    In my No 4. M.S.S. I will give songs etc.
    The Springfield and Johnson Properties were sold to the tenants. The evicted tenants got back their lands. Johnson,(Landlord) did not reside on his property at Williamstown. The Johnson Property was at one time, part of the Springfield Property.
