    Of Curreen and Aughlahard.
    The soirit of the meadow
    Thro' the Summer and Autumn's heard,
    Awake, Awake, Awake,
    Is her note the whole night long.
    As with neck outstretched and trembling o'er
    She chants the following song:

    Breezes fresh and gay,
    Stirring the leaves and grasses
    Announce the coming day.
