  1. About fifty years ago there was a man living in the parish of Kilgarvan. He was a shoemaker and he had no one living with him.
    He used to make a lot of shoes before he would sell them, and then he would take them to the fair.
    The reason he used to carry them to the fair, was, that anyone that used to come in buying them would keep him idle most of the day talking to him
