    Alas I must prepare

    The day is clearing brightly
    I'll rise my leave to take

    They tell me that America
    Is good and great and grand
    That when your once settled there
    You'll forget your dear old land
    But soon the time will shortly come
    When I will prove it wrong
    And if kind fortune favours me
    Please God it won't be long.
