  1. Michael Brett of Lecarrow walked to Croghan one day to buy himself wax. As he was coming home he saw a hare. He flung the wax at the hare and stuck it between his two eyes. As the hare was going out in the gap he met another hare and the two collided and stuck together. Then the man followed them and caught them and got his wax and brought home the two hares.

  2. There was a man once upon a time and his name was Mr. Neary. One night he dreamt that if he went to Knockroe lake with two black horses without a white hair in them he would get a stand of gold. The next day he got the two horses and some chains and started for Knockroe lake. When he reached the lake he looked for the stand of gold. He got it alright then and he tied it on
