- Local marriage customs
In olden times the old people used to say that it was not lucky for two sisters or two brothers to get married on the same day. It was an old custom to get married on Shrove Tuesday, because it was said it was lucky. In olden times people used to get married in the houses and there would be a great feast in the house of the bride.
