  1. On St Stephen's Day we go around with the wren. We start following him about two weeks before we go around. We get up very early to try to be before all the other boys. When we are going around we take a big ash plank with us for fear any dog would attack us. We dress the bush on Christmas night with ribbons of various colours. The eldest people that go around this place are about seventeen It is to bury the wren we gather the money. We buy a box of matches and we take the matches out of the box and put the wren into the box and bury him. We do all that to celebrate the death of St Stephen.
To celebrate St Patrick's Day all the little boys and girls wear green. The men and big boys wear shamrocks
At Shrove a lot of people get married, and on Shrove Tuesday everybody around the place makes pancakes. A person who is old enough to marry and is not married before Chalk Sunday has his or her back marked with chalk
