  1. There are several strong men in Meelick, but I suggest Timothy McInerney as the strongest. He defeated all the great weight throwers there and also the military in Woodcockhill. Billy McMahon was the best runner in Meelick. The prize he received was a pair of boots. It was a 400 yds' race. It took him 58 secs to do it. He was against four other men. The best walker was Michael Collins who can complete five miles in an hour. James Collins the land-steward is the best athlete in Meelick. He jumped the main drain 18 feet wide.
Jackie Ringrose is the best swimmer.
Tom Frost is the best mower. He can mow one acre in a day.
Jerry Liston was the best dancer in Meelick. Jim White is the best storyteller.
