    John Mullins was a strong man.

    John Mullins was a strong man. He was noted for throwing heavy weights. His dwelling place was in Ballygreen, not far from our house. He used to be throwing the weights at the crossroads near our house. There used to be a lot of boys throwing it but not one of them was able to throw it as far as John. He died of Pneumonia.

    One night there was a man coming from his "cuaird." He saw a man dressed in white clothes near Gleeson's liss. The man walked towards him. The man did not believe in ghosts, was not frightened at first, but when he was the white man advancing towards him, he began to get afraid.
