    The following was composed by the late Patrick Ward who was teaching in Killaloe.
    "I love the dear old place where I was born and bred
    I love its valleys, every flowery mead
    I love the noble river with its righteous laughing eyes
    For thee my love for the old town
    Had many sacred ties
    Chorus.
    For I love the boys and girls likewise
    So gracious fond and true
