  2. The weddings of today are more up to date than those which would be forty years ago.
    Today match-making is a thing of the past. Usually the intended couple have made the acquaintance of each other some time before their marraige.
    If the bride has not a dowry of her own she gets it from her father or brother, or who ever the responsible person may be, sometimes money is given as well as stock
    Long ago side-cars would be their mode of travelling. Sometimes there would be a race and who-ever was first got a bottle of whiskey.
