    Long ago people had a lot of "pisreogs." One a May morning which is the 1st of May, they would tie a peice of red flannel to the cows tail to keep her from being overlooked. They used to say that if you went out at daylight on a May morning and washed your hands and face in the dew of the grass that you would be lovely from that on. If you heard the cuckoo and you stooped you will be dead that day twelve - month. If you heard the cuckoo and you crying you would be crying every day in the year.
