    it is put into a wooden dish and cold water is poured on it to wash the buttermilk off it. It is then salted and made into (use) pounds ready for use. The buttermilk is given to the calves and pigs. It is also used in making bread.

    Here is a story about churning :-
    there was a man one time going with plants to Ballybay. As he was going by the mile river, he saw a girl in it, and a rope in her hand, she was saying " Go leir chugam - sa", "go leir cugam - sa". Suddenly the man repeated, " leir cugam -sa,, leir cugam - sa" He went on his way. The
