  1. There is a bog in the townland of Clon-Shanagh which runs along the Cavan Clones main road and in this bog a woman is buried. a crack in the bog bank reveals where she is buried and her red hair and some of her bones can still be seen.
The story goes that she was born and reared in a house in the townland of Clinooney the remains of which can now be seen. It is thought her name was Kathlin Goran and that she committed suicide by poisoning herself. This happened eighty or ninety years ago and it was then custom that no one who had committed suicide could not be buried in a church yard so she was buried in this lonely out of the bog.
