  1. Once upon a time there lived a man named John O Dea in Cree. In his land was a well. It so happened that the neighbours were taking water from the well. This day he closed the well and his daughter fell ill. He went to this witch that lived in Ennis and he asked her had she any cure for her. The witch said that she had but in his land was a well which he closed and that if he opened it that she would recover. He did so and she got alright. And from that we learn that it is very unlucky to close well.
