    eat of the fruit of that tree as they are supposed to be poison.
    There are many stories connected with it. This is one. About forty years ago a number of men opened a sandpit at the foot of the hill, however they had not gone far when a host of frogs came out of the pit and crowded around the men and crept up their legs. They were horrified and shut up the pit as quickly as they could and never opened it again. At least three times two nuns were seen sitting at the end of the Coreen leading up to the tree.
    This is a rather funny story about it. One night a man was going to Ballyporeen and there was nothing in the field surrounding the hill. However when he was coming home he looked into the
