Gladstone shirts. Long ago when a man was getting married one of the first things he asked was the girl able to starch and do up the Gladstone shirt.
Long ago the old people used spin the wool at home and they used send it to a weaver to weave it into blankets, tweeds, flannels, and frize. At that time there was a weaver in every district and there was a woolen, and a linen wheel in our house. There is a woolen wheel in our house. It is still in use. We card and spin yarn for men's socks.
