- Marriages take place most frequently before lent and advent. Friday, Saturday, and the month of June are thought unlucky times for marriages. Wednesday is supposed to be a very lucky day.
Matches are made in this district. Money and stock are given as a dowry. A wedding feast is always held in the bride's house. "Straw-boys" visit the house and are sometimes received cordially and sometimes not noticed atall. These boys are dressed in straw, old hats, ribbons and old rags.
