    Oh come and stray round the Lough-in-lea
    The Breffnie mountain fair
    When the skies are blue for a pleasant view
    That is beyond compare
    And view each scene and meadow green
    Each wooded vale and brae
    For miles around from that lofty mound.
    Of the dead old Lough-in-Lea

    You sing in praise of lofty braes,
    That seem to reach the sky
    The mountains grand of Switzerland
    So stately and so high
