  1. About a mile outside Bailieboro there is a small road called Uncher Lane. On at the top of this lane there is a track of a giant's foot. It is said that a giant while throwing a stone left his tack in this stone. It is after this that Uncher got (his) it's name as Uncher in Irish means "a shot."
