- About a mile outside Bailieboro there is a small road called Uncher Lane. On at the top of this lane there is a track of a giant's foot. It is said that a giant while throwing a stone left his tack in this stone. It is after this that Uncher got (his) it's name as Uncher in Irish means "a shot."A more recent version of this transcript is awaiting approval
