  1. A very old man who resided near Bailieboro and is dead for many years, told the writer this story:-
    When I was a little lad of about four years of age, I was playing beside my fathers house. It was a bright Summer's night. My mother and another woman were standing talking on the road beside me. After a little while I looked down the road and I saw a crowd of soldiers drilling. There were on horse-back and were wearing red coats. "Oh mammie" I cried look at all the soldiers."What are you talking about?" asked my mother. "Oh look at them
