  1. One day a women went out to the well for a can of water. She left the child in the cradle in the kitchen. The child was a fat child and hardly ever cried. When the woman was coming back she heard the child crying. She ran into the house to see what was wrong. When she went into the house she saw a little thin child in the cradle. This child was always crying. In a few weeks the child died. It was believed it was swopped by the fairies. The old people say if you put the tongs over a pram or a cradle that
