  1. There was an old coat called "Fifer Traynor" who lived in upper Glasslek, Shercock. He was called "Fifer" because he used to play a fife, and teach fife and drum bands.
    He died about thirty years ago. A neighbour of his called "Fiddly Tully" had a jennet which he sold to a man called Montgommery to draw patients to the old fever hospital in Bailieboro. He made a song about the jennet, and here is a bit of it.

    Where I spent many a happy day,
    And if poor Fiddly had his will
