    In the townland of Burnia there lived a man called Pat Brady.

    In the townland of Burnia there lived a man called Pat Brady. He had many cows but he could not get any butter off the milk. Every week one of his cows died till at last they were all dead.
    The poor man was in a bad way at the loss of all his cows. He decided to buy one. One day he went to the fair and bought one. He had a long way to come and it was getting dark when he was near home. As he came into the field over his own house he heard noises. He listened and heard hearty laughing around him. He went home and told what he heard and said that it was the fairies that were destroying his cows and that they were laughing at him for trying to keep a cow. In a short while she died also and from that on he never
