    pig buyers used to round the people's houses the evening before the fairs buying pigs.
    The fairs that were carried on long ago are carried on to the present day.
    |There was a fair held on Murmod hill about forty years ago, the cattle had a disease called the foot and mouth they would not be allowed to hold the fair in Virginia and that was the reason it was held on Murmod hill.
    The town fair is held ion the street. Long ago toll used to be paid on cattle. A man used to stand at every end of the town and for each animal that would go in to the fair a penny would have
