    Basket making was very common in ancient Ireland. This is how they were made.
    They used to get rods off a willow tree and then they used to season them.They used to make a round hoop with a willow rod and then they used to tie the two ends together with a fine willow rod. Then they used to put thick rods through from one end to the other. Then they used to lap the rods with fine ones.
    They used to push the rods down to make a depth in the basket.
