- Long long ago there was exaggerations about different things. There was a man boasting of a large fish he caught, and the man whom he was telling laughed and said, he was fishing once and caught a pike which weighed seventy-six pounds and that it took him between twenty four and forty-eight hours to pull him in, and when he got him in he had a great fight to kill him, when he took him home, he was showing him to a man who was his friend and he said he would eat him himself, so the fish was cleaned and cooked for him and put out on dishes, so he began to eat and ate a barrel of potatoes along with it.Another exaggeration is about the potato crop, A man who was telling another of how much his potatoes improved in a week, said he was digging potatoes a week ago and they were only as big as haws and that he went out to dig to day and that he only dug one stalk and there were three potatoes on it, and the only way he could(continues on next page)
