- In the townland of Crohan, about half a mile from this school, there is a Mass Rock. In front of this Rock there is a large valley in which hundreds of people assembled in the Penal times. This vale was probably occupied by the people who attended Mass at the Rock.
A short distance to the South side of this Mass Rock there is a high hill called Cnoc-a-Mhail-Sidhe. This hill was undoubtedly used as an Observation Post while the Holy Sacrifice was being offered. From this elevation miles and miles of the adjoining countryside can be seen. On the north side of the Mass Rock there is another known as Kiernans' Rock. From this Lough Ramor and the district for some miles around it can also be seen.
Having this fine view, around the Rock, and the Mass Rock itself(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
