    was very scarce and if a man bought say about six pigs he would not be paid money but would be given some other animal in return. Long ago there were only two fairs in the year. When an animal is sold a luck penny is always given.
    There was also great fairs held in Crossdoney in which dealers usto to come from all parts to buy all kinds of stock. This fair was always held on the street. The big fair is always held in Cavan.
