  1. People have many customs at Hallowe'en. People make boxty and apple cakes, and buy barmbracks, nuts, apples, and other sweet cakes to eat on hallowe'en night. Some people make puddings. The children have great fun trying to get the ring out of the barnbrack cake, and whoever gets the ring will be married first.
    Young people dress up in old clothes and put false faces on them and go round to houses dancing and playing music, and asking for boxtie, money and nuts.
    Some people play games. An apple is hung up to the ceiling
