   subdivision of Kilmacanogue townland called Caill or the Wood. The Lady's Island, Braghaid (Braghaid - a neck), lies behind Kilmacanogue Village) & Long Roe are names of localities on the same side of the mountain.

   The old Church of Kilcroney lies in ruins. The stones all through the building are uncommonly large. No appearance of a grave yard remains on the outside, but the family of Lawlers have a few graves inside. About 60 yds east of the Church is a small well, covered with briars and thorns, supposed to be Saint Croney's Well, but it retains no character for sanctity in the neighbourhood. A little more to the east, as you cross the road and the little brook that divides the parish of Bray from the Parish of Kilmacanogue, on the lands of Kilbride, while some men were digging on the very verge of the stream they dug up several stones apparently used as headstones for graves, and among the rest they dug up a small
