    Chorus :-
    With waiting and watching, the crowd gathered round them
    It was a fierce contest for captain and men.
    For twenty three minutes, the struggle it lasted.
    Carrigower won the victory by two pulls to one.
    Chorus:-
    And then with Kilmurry the contest it ended.
    Two teams from the Highlands the final to pull,
    And oh! with glad we again hear the story.
    The Victory came home to the Varthery so sweet.
