   Holy Wells in my Townland. There is a Holy well in my parish that is in Leighlin Bridge, Co. Carlow, called St. Lazerian's well. It is surrounded by a cement wall and a little lane leads down to it. The well is visited for the cure of ailments and diseases. There were many cures at this well as a tree which is beside it bears many tokens such as crutches. This is how St. Lazerian came to Old Leighlin, Co. Carlow, he was staying at a place called Lorum. An Angel appeared to him and told him to go and build his Church in the place over which the sun would shine next morning. The sun shone on Old Leighlin. When he reached the spot it was a pool of water. He blessed three stones and threw them into the pool and it dried up at once. here he started and built his Church. A well sprung up beside it to supply him with water. This is the well which is still in Old Leighlin. The eighteenth of April is the date of the annual pattern that is on St. Lazerian's
