  1. Treasure is supposed to be hidden in the garden of Castletown near Birr, Offaly. Turkeys are believed to guard it and when any one went to unearth this treasure the tools are said to have disappeared. Old Jack Watkins was one who tired to unearth it and lost his crowbar in the attempt. this old man is long dead. The treasure is believed to be a crock of gold valued £1000.
    Silver is supposed to be hidden in Dromoyle near Birr. The needle for finding silver worked at a certain place and people have dreamt of it being there. No one attempted to get it.
