- Garlic when sliced is a cure for corns. It is made into a poultice and put on the foot where the corn is, and left on for about three days, and when it is fit to be taken off the corn will be gone completely.
Celery, when eaten raw is a cure for rheumatism. It is the stalk that is eaten raw, and the leaves are used in soup to flavour it. The stalk is also cooked.
