    The landlord for Cloghan Hill or Coolreagh was Mr John King.

    This story was told to Patrick Donnelly (Hill Road) aged (11yrs) by his Grandfather, a farmer, aged (60yrs) and is written here by Michael Smith on the 7th day of March 1938.
    The landlord for Cloghan Hill or Coolreagh was Mr. John King. He lived in Ballylin, Ferbane. His Agent was Thomas Mullock, Killnagarna. The landlord would not let any one cut down a tree without his permission. The landlord for Cloghan, Creggan and Maugherabaun was Mr. Pott's, he lived in Correen County Galway. He evicted 15 families in the year 1881. Some got shelter from the neighbours and some got houses in the village. They had to be let back as no one would take up the land.
