    constant, and as the trades-man was paid so much per 1,000 he would have to make a large amout to earn a living wage. He stood between the bellows and the anvil. He first kindled his fire and then put in the piece of nail rod. When red enough he would put it on an anvil, beat it out and then place it in a vice, cut it to the length of a nail, shape the head, point it and put it the tin or box used for holding them.
