  1. There is only one rath in the school district and it is in the townsland of Park, Cushinstown, New Ross. This one is circular and there are some trees growing around it. Fairies have been seen and heard in in years gone by. There is a story told of a man in this place that he used to be seen once a week on a certain night. People used to go to see him playing his music. In olden times lights were seen and churning was hear in the raths on the second of May. It is said that if people did not stay up minding their cows on that night they would not have any butter for a whole year.
