  1. There lived in Cushinstown, New Ross a woman named Mrs. Lacy who had three sons. Two of these boys joined the insurgents who were camped on Corbette Hill. They had left their youngest brother Jimmy in charge of the their home with instructions to look after the farm until their return. At eleven o' clock on the 4th June, Jimmy seeing the camp fires on Corete Hill became anxious to join the insurgents and told his mother of this wish. She gave him permission to go but asked him first to bring in the cows so that they would be there for the milking in the morning. She asked him too to send his brother Tom home to her if he should see him as she needed some of her sons to help her with the work of the farm. When the battle of Ross took place on the following morning the three brothers tok part in it. Tom Lasy and his brother Jimmy were killed at the Three Bullet Gate and the young Willie
