  1. There is gold supposed to be hidden in the Abbey. People say about twenty two years ago a man dreamt that he and a crowd of men got the gold so the next night a crowd of men with picks, and spades, and shovels went to dig for the gold. This continued for two nights and the third night they went and about twelve o'clock they thought they heard somebody getting down off the Abbey at them and they ran home and never went to dig for gold since. There is also supposed to be gold chalices buried there.
