    Buying and selling
    Shops were common in olden time. When people got things without paying for them it was said to be bought "on Tick". People would buy after mass. It the seller wanted more than the buyer they said "Divide the difference."

  2. Shops were common in olden times. People had to go to the nearest town to make purchases. The word "tick" was often used. Money was not always given for goods: people would work sometimes instead of giving money Buying and selling was carried on after but it is not still done.
