    A Severe Storm
We have not had any severe storms recently but about twenty five years ago we had a storm about the middle of August. It was a very early harvest at the time. The corn which was stacked was carried across the fields by a strong wind this was a rare sight.
About fifteen years ago we had a hurricane. Taghmon suffered more than the neighbouring villages as wooden and tin sheds were carried miles away. Thousands of wild birds were dashed against the rocks along the coast in most cases and this proved fatal.
