    A part of the Abbeydown road is called "Jack Shuts", it got its name from an old man who lived in a small mud hut. The old man lived to be a hundred years of age.

    The is a place called the Devils Seat in Johnstown in the Parish of Clonegal. The devil is supposed to sit in it eleven to twelf o clock at night
    The Devils seat is a place the shape of a chair in a gate-post.
