  1. There is a field near our teacher's home (Curraghlawn) and it is called "The Gloun." It is said to be the lowest field in all Ireland except one. This is so steep it cannot be tilled, and in Winter it turns into a lake. There is another field near the teacher's home and it is called "The Gorrie Caum." It is a crooked little field slanting down to a valley.
    There is a field in Ballingarry on Mrs. Tyndall's land called "The Sconce."
    There are a lot of hollows and banks in it and it is said that there was a battle fought in it long ago.
    There is a field at home and we call it the "Waterfield" because a
