  1. Knitting.
    In this part of Co. Wicklow many years ago the women gathered wool from the sheep grazing on Croghan Kinsella, Carrig, and Conna Hill and from the dead sheep whenever possible. The spun and carded this wool, knit it into Socks and stockings and then walked to Dublin to sell them, or sometimes they walked across the mountain to Arklow. In this way the women made pocket money for them selves.
