    In the year 1890 and in the month of July there was a very big thunderstorm and my grandmother was at the fire cooking. She was struck with lightning but she came to in a minute. When she went out in the morning she saw a tree that was near the house split down straight through the middle by the lightning.
    There was a great rainstorm in the district of Gorey, and in 1898, and it carried away cocks of hay and trees that were lying near the river. My uncle had sheep and cows near the river and he had to go out on horse back to get them out.
    About 55 years ago there was a very heavy snowstorm, and it lasted for six weeks. It was about 15
