    held every year in Gorey in May and it is, called the "Benogue" or "Banog" fair.
    Long ago this fair used to be held in a village called Banog. Now there is no village there, and the fair was moved to Gorey town but it is still called "the Fair of Benogue."
    If two men are making a bargain and they cannot come to an agreement about it a third man is often called in to help. He generally asks what is between them and when told the amount says "Split the difference."
    He catches a hand of each of the two men when making the bargain.
