  1. There lived in the parish of Glynn in Co. Wexford about one hundred years ago a poor farmer. He had only a few acres of land which he used to plough with an old wooden plough which made very slow progress.
    This man was notorious for cursing. When anything went wrong he put awful curses on it.
    One day as he came out from his dinner he saw an old man standing in a corner of the field.
    As he approached him the old man spoke to him and said -
    "I will give you a plough, which will plough your land itself without any horses, but while you have it you must never curse or it will disappear."
    The farmer promised that he would never curse again and the man brought him the plough
