  1. There was a fire in a haggard owned by Mr. Warren, Whitechurch. It happened in or about the year 1920. All the straw and hay were set on fire. There was a labour strike on at the time and it is thought that some of the strikers set fire to the ricks. They were warned about the fire a couple of days before it happened. When the flames were noticed someone gave the alarm and the neighbours came to help to out it out.
